+## ADR-058 — 2026-07-17 — Track routing/gateway tests; fix streaming-error abort in test client
2163
+
2164
+**Context:** Two artifacts were flagged "untracked" in PLAN.md: `test_routing.py`
2165
+(valid alias / multi-method / router-inclusion tests) and `test_gateway.json`
2166
+(orphaned gateway config fixture). Separately, the full pytest run hit a hard
2167
+`Fatal Python error: Aborted` from `panic = "abort"`: the in-process
2168
+`TestClient` mock server (`justapi-core/src/testing.rs`) `panic!`s on any
2169
+hyper connection error, and a validated stream that aborts mid-flight (e.g.
2170
+`stream_json` rejecting an invalid item via `send_error`) surfaces that as a
2171
+body-stream error — aborting the entire test process.
2172
+
2173
+**Decision / changes:**
2174
+1. **Track the tests.** `test_routing.py` (2 tests, pass) is now committed.
2175
+ `test_gateway.json` moved into the package test dir and exercised by a new
2176
+ `test_gateway.py` that asserts `enable_gateway()` parses the config and
2177
+ registers proxy routes without needing live upstreams (1 test, pass).
2178
+2. **Test-client body-stream errors must not abort.** `testing.rs` line ~90
2179
+ changed from `panic!(...)` to `tracing::debug!(...)` when `serve_connection`
2180
+ returns an error. A streamed body that fails (validation abort) is expected
2181
+ application behavior, not a harness fault; under `panic = "abort"` it killed
2182
+ pytest. Now logged and the connection closes gracefully.
2183
+
2184
+**Evidence:** `pytest crates/justapi-py/python/justapi/` → 120 passed, 1 skipped
2185
+(previously aborted). `cargo test --workspace --features db` green; clippy
2186
+`-D warnings` clean; `cargo fmt --check` clean.

- [ ] **Working tree is dirty with pure rustfmt churn.** 74 files show uncommitted line-wrap reflows (2860 deletions) from a nightly `cargo fmt`. `rustfmt.toml` uses nightly-only options (`wrap_comments`, `format_code_in_doc_comments`, `normalize_comments`, `imports_granularity`, `group_imports`) that are silently ignored on stable — so `cargo fmt --check` passes locally but a nightly CI gate would flag the whole tree. Resolve by either pinning CI to nightly + committing the format, or dropping the nightly-only options and committing the revert. Do not ship the 2860-line deletion accidentally.
608
608
- [ ] **Python test deps not pinned.** `venv` was missing `pytest_asyncio`, `pydantic`, `jinja2`. Add a `[project.optional-dependencies]` `test` extra / `requirements-dev.txt` so the suite is reproducible.
609
609
- [ ] **Phase 52 real run unverified.** `cargo run -p justapi-bench --bin justapi-gpu-bench --features "cuda, real"` still needs a real-weight pass; the `candle`+CUDA build is heavy and unconfirmed in this env.
610
-- [ ] **Untracked artifacts:** `crates/justapi-py/python/justapi/test_routing.py`, `test_gateway.json` — integrate or remove.
610
+- [x] **Untracked artifacts (resolved 2026-07-17).** `test_routing.py` now tracked (2 pass); `test_gateway.json` moved into the package test dir and covered by new `test_gateway.py` (1 pass). Also fixed a latent `panic = "abort"` in `justapi-core/src/testing.rs` that killed pytest on any streamed-body error (e.g. `stream_json` rejecting an invalid item). pytest suite now 120 passed / 1 skipped. See ADR-058.
